SUMMER READING PROGRAM

The Waterville Library is going to be starting it’s Summer Reading Program in the month of June.
On Tuesday the 12th of June from 10:30-11:30am we will be starting a Story Time/Music Hour for kids between the ages of 2-5.  My 16 year old daughter, Megan Jones, will read a book out loud for all the kids.  After that, I hope to have someone from the Valley Heights High School band come in and share with the kids the instrument they play and play a little something for them.
On Thursday the 14th of June at 5:30-6:30pm will be our first Lego Club get together.  This is open to anyone above the age of 4 and will take place the 2nd and 4th Thursday’s of every month.  I want to personally thank Beth Bachura for bringing this idea to us along with the willingness to help run the Lego Club along with the help of Jeannette Bergquist and or other members of the Library Board of Trustees.  It should be a fun time for everyone.  I just ask in advance that everyone come with a little extra patience’s as this will be the first time we have tried something like this and I am sure there will be some small glitches along the way.
We also currently have a book club called “Last Page Literary Club” that meets every Thursday night at 7pm and is going over the life and works of Mark Twain.  Please don’t hesitate to stop by and take this chance to learn more about one of America’s most beloved authors.
Lastly, we will have what is called “Independent Reading” starting at the beginning of June.  Both kids and adults can come in and fill out a registration paper and pick up a reading log.  This will go from the beginning of June till the end of July.  Once the end of July comes and depending on how many books (For Adults) and pages you read (For Kids) I hope to have a little something for you to reward you for all the reading you have done.  What that is as of right now I am not exactly sure but it will be something.  For the kids I might be doing something for them weekly if they bring their reading log in and show me what they have read.
Lee
