Hello Waterville Library Patrons and members of the community. The Friends of The Waterville Library will be starting up a new literary club called, “Last Page Literary Club”. It’s first meeting will be held at the Waterville Public Library on Thursday, May 3rd at 7PM. They will begin exploring Mark Twain both as one of our countries classic authors as well as an almost mythic presence in our cultural life as a nation.
One of the main goals of learning about Mark Twain will be to learn how to appreciate the achievement of his best, most representative works. By using The Great Courses dvd’s we will learn “The Life and Work of Mark Twain.” 30 minute lectures by Professor of English at the University of Virginia, Professor Stephen Railton. Followed by questions to consider and discussions.
This is open to for all ages and we hope to see you there.
